Things To Do in Arenas
- Visiting local fiestas with Toros de Fuego
- Have a walk to the lake
- Visit Palacio de la Mosquera outside (sometimes there can be exhibitions and you can see it from the inside, but normally, it is closed)
- To See Castillo ( the most recognisable building, you will see it for sure)
- Enjoy the nature of Sierra de Gredos while exploring mountain routes
- Visit other villages (El Hornillo - 7km from Arenas,but almost dead. We have never seen there lots of people; El Arenal - few km far to the mountains, but very spectacular, especially during local fiestas; La Parra - very close to Arenas, you can walk there easily; Guisando - beautiful and perfect for hiking far to the mountains .......)
- Visit Cuevas del Aguila (close to Ramacastañas)
- To see Arenas from the hill (one of our favourite places)
- to buy "pimenton de la vera"
- SWIMMING: There are natural river pools everywhere where you can take a bath during the summertime.

- GOING FOR WALKS / Hikes: Around Town, the Palace, the Pantano, the old road from Arenas de San Pedro to La Parra, Senda de las Pescadores, up to the Mountains (La Mira, 2343m, Lagunas etc.) http://www.wikirutas.es/rutas/Castilla_y_Leon/avila/Sierra _de_Gredos/
- CLIMBING (climbing panel in Arenas de San Pedro, Rocodromo + rocks to climb in Los Galayos – Sierra de Gredos and in the surroundings).
PLACES/BARS YOU CAN GO:
- Chicanos, good tapas and good wifi
- Merrick'S BAR - “irish pub”
- La Corredera – next to Merrick, with really good tapas and different beers
- Ventura – Very nice and cozy atmosphere, recently renovated, great tapas and perfect for chatting (We did english café there), cheap beer, terrace in summer, good wifi
- La Chica de Ayer – Can't be explained, best bar in Arenas with the best barkeeper of Arenas (Dioni) and the best music of Arenas, opened usually only Saturday nights from around midnight
- In Situ – Nicer place, good for Dinner, often concerts and Jam Sessions
- El Torreón – (almost) unlimited tapas
- Casa de la Cultura (they have many events going on here)
- Sala el Balcon (different events)
- La Jara (different spiritual events)
- Moon & Rock - nice music and cosy atmosphere
- Also you can ask for information in touristic office. they always know what is going on in Arenas:)
